Chiropractic Spinal Manipulation
Spinal manipulation, also called spinal manipulative therapy or manual therapy, combines adjusting joints, massage, exercise, and physical therapy. It is designed to relieve pressure on joints, reduce inflammation, and improve nerve function. It is often used to treat back, neck, shoulder, and headache pain.
Soft Tissue Therapy
Soft tissue therapy (STT) is the assessment, treatment and management of soft tissue injury, pain and dysfunction primarily of the nervous system. The specific treatment application of an ache, pain, or injury will be solely reliant on the conclusions reached by the assessments. Any number of treatment techniques may be used to achieve optimal treatment results.
Passive Physical Therapy Modalities (Electrical Stimulation, Ultrasound)
Electrical Stimulation has been used in acute low back pain to reduce muscle spasm and soft tissue edema (swelling).
Ultrasound is a form of deep heating in which sound waves are applied to the skin and penetrate into the soft tissues. Ultrasound is especially useful in relieving acute episodes of pain and may enhance tissue healing.
Joint Taping (Kinesiotaping)
Joint taping is the application of a thin, stretchy, cotton-based therapeutic tape that can benefit a wide variety of injuries and inflammatory conditions. It is almost identical to human skin in both thickness and elasticity, which allows it to be worn without binding, constricting or restriction of movement.
